To manufacture and market from 100% recycled-carpet a new generation of surface coverings and building materials that are price competitive and environmentally conscious.

Carpet-Burns ambition is to educate the public and raise awareness about environmental issues whilst making it possible for consumers to purchase sheets of HTC (Heat Treated Carpet) for their design projects.

  • To develop our technology to provide materials that will be sensitive to the earth’s finite resources and environment through the use of recycled carpet.
  • To promote energy saving activities by considering the product’s lifecycle in order to minimize its environmental impact.
  • To meet or exceed all applicable environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
  • To promote waste minimization activities, giving preference to recycled or renewable sources wherever practical.

Eco-audit

Every industrial process uses energy and creates waste and the recycling industry is no exception. It is obviously important therefore to ensure that any recycling process is environmentally worthwhile. Carpet-Burns has conducted an energy audit on our own process and established that making HTC from waste carpet requires 50% to 70% less energy than used to create sheets from virgin plastics.  Because we do not melt the carpet completely, HTC gives off no noxious or harmful fumes.
